Curfew lifted for two hours in Kalikot

Kalikot, The indefinite curfew that was clamped in Manma, the headquarters of Klaikot district, has been lifted for two hours.
The local administration clamped the curfew on Saturday in view of the prevailing tense situation following the death of a temporary police recruit Bibek Aidi in police firing on Friday.
Chief District Officer Badrinath Gaihre said that the curfew has been lifted from 8 to 10 am today. The administration has also called the representatives of the victim's side, the local political parties and civil society for a meeting during that time to resolve the issue.
He said the meeting will start at 10 am and the process would be moved ahead as per the decision made by the Council of Ministers. CDO Gaihre has urged for the cooperation from all sides for resolving the problem.
The curfew was clamped from 4 pm on Saturday after the demonstrators and the temporary police personnel, who were protesting Aidi's death, started burning tires and pelting stones in front of the District Administration Office when the talks were in progress.
The situation in the district headquarters is normal now. The civil society and the victims's side have said that they would stop the protests and receive Aidi's body as the government has addressed their demands.
