Further COVID-19 restrictions in the Valley from today: Here is what you can and cannot do

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The District Administration Offices (DAOs) in the Kathmandu Valley, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur, have enforced further restrictions amid the surging cases of COVID-19.

The valley on Tuesday recorded as many as 5,549 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of 39,044 active cases across the country, 24,576 are in the valley alone.

In view of curbing the further spread of the disease, the local government on Tuesday introduced new restrictions in the valley.

Here is the list of activities restricted from today:

1) Restriction in holding any sort of public gatherings, meetings and seminars, etc till mid-February,

2) Religious activities at religious places except conducting regular rituals,

3) Gathering of more than 25 people at public places,

4) Travelling in long-hauled vehicles without antigen tests,

5) Carrying passengers more than their seat capacity by public vehicles

6) Vaccination card mandatory from January 21 to attend meetings conducted in the physical presences of people, seek services from government offices, enjoy games at stadium and while visiting hotels and restaurants. 

It has been maintained that the soft copy of the vaccination card can be used as an alternative to the card itself.
