Nepal Bar Association stages protest at SC, six advocates injured in clash with security personnel

KATHMANDU, November 11: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) staged a protest at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana on Thursday.

The protest soon intensified and clashed with security personnel. Six advocates got injured in the clash.

The injured advocates have been identified as Lila Mani Poudel, general secretary of the NBA, Rima Karna, Mukunda Bhattarai, Kumar Sharma, Prakash Maharjan and Rakshya Bashyal.

The association has been demanding the resignation of CJ Rana and pressuring him to step down. CJ Rana has also been accused of defaming the Judiciary and demanding his share in the Cabinet.
