20 seats in upper house being vacant, EC recommends elections in January, next year

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has recommended to the government to hold elections for the to-be-vacant seats of the National Assembly (NA) in January, next year. 

Holding a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday, the EC office bearers recommended the government to hold the elections in the last week of January, 2022. 

Tenure of 20 members of the upper house of parliament is expiring in February-end.
