UML concludes Statute Congress, to hold 10th General Convention in Butwal

KATHMANDU: The three-day Statute Convention of the main opposition CPN-UML has concluded. 

The convention, which was held for the first time, announced to hold the party’s upcoming Tenth General Convention in Butwal, in western Nepal. 

As many as three political documents --- one by Chairman KP Sharma Oli, other by General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel and the final one by Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel --- were endorsed by the convention after panel-wise deliberations. 

The party also said that it would focus on the next local level and general elections. 

A 15-member election commission headed by Dr Bijaya Subba was also formed during the convention. 

More than 6,000 delegates from across the country joined the convention that kicked off on Friday afternoon. 

The party is holding its 10th general convention from November 26 to 28 later this year.
