EPL: Rhinos thrash Warriors by seven wickets; Gladiators, Kings share points

KATHMANDU: Pokhara Rhinos defeated Biratnagar Warriors by seven wickets in the 14th match of the Everest Premier League (EPL), played in Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday. 

In the second match of the day, Rhinos won the toss and invited the Warriors to bat first. The Warriors scored 172 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Aarif Sheikh was the top scorer for the side with 44 runs. 

Chasing the target of 173 runs, three abroad players --- Asela Gunaratne (50 unbeaten), Richard Levi (47) and Sahan Arachchige (43) guided the Rhinos to the convincing victory in the 18th over. Sri Lankan national Arachchige was declared the man of the match for his all-round performance. 

The first match between Bhairahawa Gladiators and Kathamndu Kings XI was abandoned due to a wet outfield. Consequently, Gladiators and Kings shared a point each.
