Foreign Minister urges to explore solution through peaceful talks
Kathmandu - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara has stressed the need to address the India-Pakistan unrest through peaceful talks.
Talking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Minister Mahara also emphasized the urgency of narrowing down the bitterness persisting between China and India through the means of dialogue and talks.
"Nepal wishes to see the situation where there is no mutual conflict. The solution to all the problems should be explored through peaceful dialogue", he added.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mahara said this while responding to a query regarding the disruption of SAARC Summit and absence of Indian ministry at a meeting of Home Ministers of SAARC taking place in Sri Lanka capital.
In a different note, Deputy Prime Minister Mahara noted that Nepal should keep equal relations with India and China and take maximum benefits from both the countries.
Nepal has understood the security sensitivities of both the countries, he said, pledging that Nepal's territory would in no way be used against India and China.
Nepal's foreign policy would be implemented keeping national interest and concerns at the centre, he asserted, adding that it would be good for Nepal to maintain balanced relations with all nations.
The foremost priority of the country is to put in place the economic diplomacy in an effective manner for the country's development.
