Oli, Thapa meet to discuss contemporary issues

Kathmandu - CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Kamal Thapa held a meeting Tuesday to discuss the country's contemporary political issues.

During the meeting that took place at the UML's parliamentary party office, Singha Durbar, the two leaders, reviewing the recently held local-level elections, discussed on the matters of holding the provincial and central elections on time.

On the occasion, leader Oli urged Thapa to take the party's initiatives for starting open discussions on the constitution amendment proposal only after the completion of all levels of elections, into consideration, according to UML's parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Nembang.

The RPP chair, stating that the party was positive about the constitution amendment proposal that is under consideration in the Parliament, viewed that the government should move ahead to this regard taking the UML into confidence.

"The RPP believes that the constitution amendment acts shall be taken ahead by incorporating the sentiments of all political parties at least to take the country out of existing problematic situation," RPP leader Rajaram Shrestha said, quoting Thapa.
