Lumbini Chief Minister KC wins trust vote
BUTWAL, Aug 23: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Kul Prasad KC has won the confidence motion.
Announcing the result of the vote on the trust motion at the meeting of the Lumbini Province Assembly on Monday afternoon, Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti said that 43 members were present in the voting procedure. Of them, 42 lawmakers voted in favor of CM Oli while no vote was cast against him. A member of the provincial assembly opted to remain neutral, according to Speaker Gharti.
The voting on CM KC’s trust motion took place though the lawmakers belonging to the main opposition CPN-UML boycotted the meeting.
The Lumbini Province Assembly has 80 members excluding the speaker.
KC, the parliamentary leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) was appointed the chief minister on August 12 following the resignation of erstwhile CM Shankar Pokharel.
