Case of four Lumbini lawmakers to be heard by full bench
KATHMANDU, June 21: Hearing on the petition registered by the four members of the Lumbini Province Assembly will be conducted by a full bench at the Supreme Court (SC).
A division bench of justices duo Dipak Kumar Karki and Hari Prasad Phunyal, on Monday, decided to forward the case to the full bench.
The lawmakers including Santosh Kumar Pandey, Bijaya Bahadur Yadav and Suman Sharma Rayamajhi reached the apex court after their party, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) relieved them as the members of the provincial assembly on April 29.
JSP’s Central Executive Committee led by one of the chairmen Upendra Yadav suspended their membership after they joined the Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel-led Cabinet though their party had decided to vote for a no-confidence motion filed against CM Pokharel.
The apex court had earlier passed an interim order asking the province assembly to reinstate them, on May 12.
