With eased restriction orders, Kathmandu reports rise in traffic (Photo Feature)
KATHMANDU, June 17: With the local administrations of the districts in the Kathmandu Valley deciding to ease the ongoing prohibitory orders starting June 15, the number of vehicles plying streets of the capital city has significantly increased.
Places including New Baneshwor, Koteshwor, Kalanki, Bhadrakali and Thapathali have reported long queues of the vehicles waiting to be inspected by the traffic police personnel. Those places often report traffic congestion during the time when most businesses and offices start and shut.
A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of the Valley enforced eased restriction orders allowing grocery stores, book shops and fruits and vegetables shops to remain open until 11 AM. Similarly, online delivery and take away services are also open after 7 AM.
