Nepali Women Society Portugal gets Poudel as its Chair
PORTUGAL, May 25: The first general convention of Nepali Women Society Portugal has concluded on Sunday by forming a new working committee. Nepali Honorary Consul General to Lisbon, Makar Bahadur Hamal, had inaugurated the virtual general convention.
On the occasion, Hamal praised theSociety for carrying out notable works within the first year of its establishment.
The general convention unanimously elected a 19-member new working committee under the chairpersonship of Maya Poudel Kharal. Similarly, Sarita Sharma and Deepa Limbu are the two vice-chairpersons, Shanti Aryal Adhikari is the general-secretary, Renu Pariyar and Devi Ghimitre are the secretaries, Shova Giri is the treasurer and Sangeeta Thapa Magar is the joint treasurer of the new working committee.
The executive members include Apsara Bartaula, Indira Pariyar, Sumitra Diwali,Indira Basyal, Sita Kandel Sapkota, Shanta Dhungana, Reeta Dhakal, Asha Rijal, Manisha Dulal, Sashi Sherpa and Rabina Bhat.
The Society felicitated Lok Prasad Dahal, central co-treasurer of Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA, senior advocate Rajendra Sharma, advocate Sharada Poudel, Indira Byanjankar Shrestha, beautician Neera Karki, manoj Bhattarai and Anu Chhetri in recognition of their support to te Society in various ways.
President of NRNA Portugal, Tilak Gaire, tourism ambassador Ramesh Gurung, Govinda Poudel, president of Overseas Nepali unity Forum, Madan Limbu, journalist Raj Kumar Thapa, president of Janapragatisheel Morcha Purna BK, president of Nepal Society Portugal Som Sherpa and vice-president of Nepali Naari Samaj Preeti Yonjan congratulated the new working committee and extended best wishes for a successful tenure.
