Bus plunges in to Trishuli; 13 passengers rescued alive
Dhading - A passenger-ferrying bus heading to Kathmandu from Rijbiraj has disappeared in the Trishuli River at around 5.00 this morning.
Police Inspector at District Traffic Police Krishna Prasad Sapkota confirmed that the overloaded commuter bus plunged into Trishuli from the turning point at Ghatbesi in Gajuri rural municipality.
Police and locals jointly rescued 13 injured passengers who were thrown in to the river in the accident. The injured passengers were rushed to Gajuri Primary Health Post and Gajuri Hospital.
Inspector Sapkota further informed that two passengers had managed to swim across the river but remained out of contact later.
Most probably the accident was occurred when the driver failed to take the high speed bus under control in the turning point due to poorly visible roads.
The status of the passengers in the bus is yet to be ascertained. Police said that they have not yet identified the registration number plate of the bus.
