RSS service needs to be made qualitative and professional

Kathmandu - A four-day orientation programme organised with the objective of enhancing the efficiency of Rastriya Samachar Samiti or RSS journalists concluded here today. 

Altogether 16 media experts from various fields of media including in-house seniors trained around 60 RSS journalists on various aspect of journalism. 

On the occasion, the trainers also emphasized on the need to make RSS technology-friendly by understanding the importance of RSS and its services in the present context, while also developing it ahead with a distinct identity. 

On the occasion, Professor and former RSS Chairman P. Kharel, former RSS General Manager Sriram Singh Basnet, Prof. Ram Krishna Regmi, language activist Dr Baldev Adhikari, Nagarik daily editor-in-chief Gunaraj Luintel, Editor of onlinekhabar.com Arun Baral and journalist Mohan Mainali imparted training to the participating RSS journalists and media persons. 

Likewise, RSS Chairman Kul Chandra Wagle, RSS Board of Directors member Dilliram Bhattarai, Deputy General Manager Surendra Bahadur Nepali, Chief Editor Raju Shakya, Chief of Administration Somnath Lamichhane, Chief Reporter Surya Chandra Basnet, senior executive editor Shyam Rimal, Head of English Desk Dipraj Sanyal and Head of International Desk Yekraj Pathak also trained the participants. 

Concluding the Programme, RSS Chairman Wagle expressed his confidence that the knowledge and skills obtained from the orientation would be useful to make RSS news service more qualitative and professional. 

He also said that all should pay attention to make the RSS service impartial and credible, meeting the professional ethics. 

Likewise, RSS General Manager Opendra Sharma said that the recommendations received from the 

experts serve as an eye-opener for making RSS services quality, credible and timely. 

He also pledged to conduct such training programmes in mofussil as well. 

On the occasion, on behalf of the participants, trainees Mohini Mishra, Narayan Adhikari and Ashok Ghimire shared their opinions for making the news more credible through effective initiatives by highlighting the strengths of the organization.
