Urban dev along with cultural heritage preservation: Minister Shrestha

Kathmandu - Newly elected Minister for Urban Development Krishna Gopal Shrestha has said he would forward the development projects along with the preservation of cultural heritages. While assuming the post at the Ministry in Singh Durbar on Thursday, Minister Shrestha said the development works continued by the erstwhile Minister would not be disrupted.

The newly appointed Minister Shrestha was welcomed by the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Nembang, State Minister Rambir Manandhar, Kathmandu Metropolis Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya, Secretary at the Ministry Madhusudan Adhikari among other officials at the Ministry. The Minister, secretary and other officials extended him best wishes for successful tenure.

The outgoing Minister for Urban Development, Nembang hoped the new Minister would accomplish works that were in progress in the Ministry. He said people housing programmes, constructions of international conference centre at Godawari, Parliament building in Sigh Durbar and ministers' quarter at Bhaisepati were major projects run under the Ministry.
