Gandaki State Chief Sherchan bats for vocational education

Kathmandu - Chief of Gandaki State Amik Sherchan has lauded the Rotary Club’s contributions to social causes. In a programme organized by the Rotary Club in Pokhara to hand over PCR test-kits and stationery materials, State Chief Sherchan commended the initiatives taken by the Rotary Club to enhance the quality of education in the community schools across the country.

Furthermore, Sherchan pitched for vocational education and underscored the need for production-oriented education system. “The education should be practically useful. The incumbent state government has increased investment in technical education considering its importance in job creations and breeding entrepreneurship among the youths,” he noted.

On the occasion, Sherchan distributed teaching materials to 33 community schools of various districts in the Gandaki State that was provided by the Rotary International 3292 District.

Similarly, Chief Sherchan and Rotary International 3292 District Governor Kiranlal Shrestha handed over PCR test-kits to Byas Municipality in Tanahu district. The test-kits amount to around Rs 1.2 million. With the PCR test-kits, as many as eight nasal and throat swab could be put to test within three hours.
