Pharmacy set up in Terathum District Hospital
Terathum - The District Hospital in Terathum district has established its own pharmacy in the Hospital premises with an objective to provide medicines patients at subsidized prices.
The drug store will provide medicines and health equipments in subsidized rate, according to the Chief of District the Hospital.
Hospital's Chief Dr Mukti Narayan Shah said that the pharmacy will put an end to the compulsion among the patients to buy medicines and health equipments at exorbitant prices from the privately run pharmacies.
The newly established pharmacy has more than 100 types of medicines of which 70 are essential drugs provided by the government for free of cost, shared Dr Shah, adding that this would reduce the unnecessary expenditure of people in healthcare.
Pharmacy like this set up in the state-run hospitals will be running round the clock to ensure uninterrupted services to patients.
The District Health Office, Terathum had provided Rs 250,000 as seed money to set up the pharmacy.
"The pharmacy will be upscaled and further streamlined, "said Dr Shah.
