Drinking water shortage hits Birendra Bazaar for two months
Rajbiraj - Locals of Birendra Bazaar at Rupani rural municipality in the district are compelled to drink polluted water as the place is reeling under acute shortage of drinking water for the last two months.
This situation resulted after the water supply pipe in the locality was washed away by the massive flooding caused by incessant rain two months back.
Hundreds of people in the locality are compelled to use dirty water for two months as the authorities concerned have remained indifferent to this pressing problem.
The District Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office, Saptari has been informed of the problem but it has not taken any initiatives to address it, according to locals.
