NCP Secretariat meeting endorses taskforce meant for settling disputes

Kathmandu - A Secretariat meeting of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) today endorsed the formation of a taskforce by party chairs to settle the intra-party disputes. Following discussions between Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and another Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal on August 14, a six-member taskforce coordinated by party general secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel was formed.

Prime Minister’s press advisor and party’s publicity department deputy chief Surya Thapa confirmed that Secretariat meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar endorsed the taskforce. In the previous Secretariat meeting held July 19, Chair Oli had proposed to hold the party’s General Convention by upcoming December. Despite an agreement on the proposal, disputes emerged within the party.
