UML wins Butwal Sub-metropolis

 

Butwal - CPN-UML has won the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolis. 


The party has also won 16 of the 19 wards in the Sub-metropolis. Accordingly, the party's Shiva Raj Subedi was elected Mayor with 23,249 votes while his nearest rival NC's Khel Raj Pandey garnered 20,851 votes. 


Also, UML's Gumadevi Acharya was elected the Deputy Mayor with 25,301 votes. Acharya's closest contender, a joint candidate of NC, CPN (MC) and Rastriya Janamukti Party, got only 14,792 votes. 


The three-party alliance won the ward chair in no. 13, 18 and 19.
