HC stays Municipal Mayor's works

Baitadi - Mayor at Dasharathchand municipality, Narendra Singh Thapa, has been ordered not to initiate any work in his capacity as the mayor. 

A single bench of Dipayal High Court Judge Yagya Prasad Basyal issued the interim order to this effect on Wednesday. 

Mayoral candidate from RPP, Pushkar Raj Joshi had filed a writ petition at the HC, demanding the recounting of votes. 

The interim order however said it would hold discussion with both sides as the order was invoked as per Rule 61 of HC Regulation. So, another hearing has been scheduled for July 13. 

The hearing would be conducted after holding discussion with both sides. 

RPP candidate Joshi, who was defeated by NC candidate Narendra Singh Thapa by 62 votes, has been claiming of rigging in vote count and demanding the re-counting.
