Forum wins in Patarauta Municipality, RJP clinches Deputy Mayoral post
Kalaiya - Federal Socialist Forum Nepal has clinched victory in Patarauta Municipality of Bara district in the third phase of local level election.
The third phase of local level election was held in eight districts across province no 2, including Bara, on September 18.
Ramesh Kumar Yadav secured 2,682 votes to be elected to the post of Mayor in Patarauta Municipality. His closest contender Shyam Gupta of Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) garnered 2,537 votes.
Similarly, elected to the post of Deputy Mayor of the same municipality was Indu Kumari Sah of RJP. She received 2,546 votes against Federal Socialist Forum Nepal's Lalita Kumari whose vote count stood at 2,509.
Likewise, Nepali Congress's candidate Suresh Kumar Khanal was elected the Mayor of Nijgadh Municipality in Bara district securing 7,648 votes. His closest contender CPN-UML's Yam Bahadur Khada got 6,181 votes.
Elected to the post of Deputy Mayor of the same municipality is UML's Leela Khanal. She secured 6,812 votes against Beni Bahadur Moktan of NC and CPN-Maoist Centre's alliance. Latter received 6,376 votes, according to Chief Returning Officer Govinda Raj Gauli.
