Police increases crackdown against crime

Butwal - The District Police Office, Rupandehi had arrested a murder convict, who has been at large for the past 11 years, some days ago. 

On 16 September, police held Bhola Pasi, 62, of Sammarimai rural municipality of the district and made him present before the court for necessary actions ahead. Pasi along with his group had murdered Khairula Gaddhi, a local of Sammarimai-1, Mudila village, in 2007. 

Earlier, the police had arrested Ramawati Pasi on charge of her involvement in the same murder case and remanded to custody after court order while search for other convicts are underway, police informed. 

Likewise, police had nabbed Sitaram Yadav, 38, of Siyari rural municipality-3 on 19 September on murder charge. Yadav had killed Hariram Yadav, 62, of the same place on a minor dispute. 

As part of its crackdown against crime, the Area Police Office, Butwal, on 20 September had caught Bikas Thapa, 23, of Butwal sub-metropolis-4, who was involved in the crime of murder and has been absconding for the past one year. The police had remanded him to custody after an order from the court. 

Of late police have increased its crackdown against the illegal import of goods from the customs checkpoints of Rupandehi.
