Five injured in wild boar attack

Kanchanpur - Five people were injured in an attack by a wild boar at Shuklaphanta Municipality-5 on Tuesday morning. 

Those sustaining injuries are 26-year-old Surendra Saud, 45-year-old Manita Bohara, 20-year-old Man Bahadur Saud, 18-year-old Janaki Bohara and 58-year-old Kalyan Bohara of the same locality. All those injured are receiving treatment at the Seti Zonal Hospital in Kailali. 

They came under the sudden attack of the animal when they were sitting on the courtyard of a house, police stated. It is believed that the wild boar entered the human settlement from the nearby community forest. 

Meanwhile, in Parigaon of Parshuram Municipality-5, Dadeldhura district, a leopard got trapped in a snare set up to catch wild boars and other animals which come to the farmers' fields and destroy crops. The incident took place on Tuesday. 

The leopard has been freed and taken under control by a team of the Area Forest Office, Jogbudha in Dadeldhura district.
