CJ Parajuli, EC office-bearers meet
Kathmandu - Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dr Ayodhee Prasad Yadav and other commissioners called on Chief Justice and Chairman of Judicial Council Gopal Parajuli on Sunday.
During the meeting held at the Supreme Court, Dr Yadav requested CJ Parajuli for the provision of providing 87 judges and 108 officers of Judicial Service till September 20 for the purpose of Federal and Provincial elections scheduled for November 21 and January 7.
On the occasion, Dr Yadav shared that the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has been written for the same and shared that the EC was expecting the support from the CJ-led Judicial Council like in the past.
The EC team also recalled that the two phases of local level elections were successfully completed under the leadership of district judges and other officers of the Judicial Service adding that the judges would be deployed as the chief election officers in the upcoming federal and province elections as well.
In response, CJ Parajuli pledged to support to the EC by sending judges and officers of the Judicial Service for the upcoming polls.
