NC wins mayor's post in Shuklaphanta Municipality

 

 

Bhimduttanagar - Nepali Congress' candidate Dil Bahadur Ayer has been elected the mayor of Shuklaphanta Municipality in Kanchanpur district in the second phase local level election held on June 28. 


Ayer secured 6,432 votes to clinch the post while his nearest contender, CPN (UML)'s Rana Bahadur Mahara got 5,429 votes. 


Similarly, Ms. Tulasi Hamal of the CPN(UML) has been elected the deputy-mayor with 5,293 votes while her nearest rival Dharma Bista Ayer of the Nepali Congress got 5,210 votes. 


The total number of votes cast in Shuklaphanta Municipality was 18 thousand 629 and 795 votes were invalid. So far vote counting has been completed in two rural municipalities and two municipalities in Kanchanpur district and is underway in the rest five local levels.
