Test of Balach-Attariya transmission grid
Darchula - The test of Balach-Attariya 132 KV Transmission Line for Chameliya Hydropower Project being constructed in Shailyashishar Municipality-1 has begun from Sunday.
The test of the transmission line and sub-station was started. Project Chief Ajay Kumar Dahal said that test of equipments of the main and sub-station of the project was initiated and it would continue for 15 days.
The team of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Korean contractor and consultants, engineers and other technicians marked the beginning of the test from Attariya of Kailali district.
The project of 30 megawatt was proposed to complete the power generation with the investment of Rs 8.5 billion in the initial phase in 2007 but the total budget estimate is expected to cross Rs 15.6 billion until the project completion.
So far, a total of Rs 14.5 billion has been spent. The project is expected to generate the electricity within three months, project officials said.
