Public office-bearers involve in corruption, PAC Chairman says
Jitpur (Kapilbastu) - Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislature-Parliament Dor Prasad Upadhyay has said corruption is taking place in Nepali politics by those enjoying public posts.
More corruption is taking place by those bearing public posts, he said at a programme organized by Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kapilbastu, in Banganga on Tuesday.
"The government is being acting like a mute spectator instead of controlling irregularities," he said.
He added that suspicion was created whether the ruling and opposition parties were sharing same stance in the case of corruption.
Upadhyay said that the PAC has carried out studies on the alleged irregularities on Detailed Project Report of the Narsingh Gadh Hydropower Project, land procurement process of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Ncell, Inland Revenue Department and some others after he chaired the committee.
