Ruling coalition leaders suggest PM Deuba to summon all-party meeting to discuss SPP with USA

KATHMANDU, June 19: Leaders of the ruling coalition have suggested Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to summon an all-party meeting to discuss the State Partnership Program with the United States of America (USA).

Earlier, Leaders including Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal and Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yavad among others had hold a discussion with Prime Minister Deuba at the Prime Minister’s Office Residence at Baluwatar.

According to Madhav Kumar Nepal, CPN (US) Chair, PM Deuba has agreed to summon an all-party meeting.

The meeting will be held in a day or two, according to the leaders who participated in the meeting.

The SPP with the USA has been largely objected to by leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties. Meanwhile, the USA has already maintained that Nepal can send a letter if it does not want to be part of the program.
