Govt ratified MCC compact without consulting with opposition party: UML Chair Oli

‘Interpretative declaration’ is a conspiracy against the Nepali citizen.

KATHMANDU, March 1: Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has maintained that the government ratified the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact without consultation with the UML.

Similarly, Oli also stated that the ‘interpretative declaration’ issued with the MCC compact by the government is a conspiracy against the citizens of Nepal.

Stating that the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government is a failure, Oli accused the government of failing to maintain prosperity, economic stability, peace and security in the country.

“The ruling alliance decided to pass the compact in order to protect the positions of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal,” Oli said.
