Deuba, Prachanda and Nepal discuss MCC
KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Top brass of the three coalition parties held a meeting at the official residence of the prime minister in Baluwatar on Monday afternoon.
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal held the meeting to discuss the much talked about Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and local level elections.
Maoist Chair Prachanda proposed amending some ‘controversial’ articles in the MCC compact, according to a high-level Baluwatar source.
The MCC Nepal Compact is awaiting ratification from Nepal’s parliament.
