Birgunj Mayor Rajeshman Singh Presented in Court on Forgery Charge

Birgunj. Parsa police have presented Birgunj Mayor Rajeshman Singh in court. Police presented Mayor Singh, who was arrested on a forgery charge, in court early in the morning. 

District Court Parsa clerk Prabhakar Mallik informed that the mayor was presented in court a short while ago. 

According to him, the police presented Mayor Singh during office hours, and the legal process will now begin. "After taking the statement, the pre-trial detention hearing will begin," he said. He added that further legal proceedings will be carried out as per the court's order. 

Parsa police had arrested him on Tuesday morning from Thori in the district. Based on the complaint of local Liyaqat Ali, an arrest warrant was issued against Mayor Singh on the 12th. Parsa Police Chief Sudipraj Pathak informed that the arrest was made on that basis. He is accused of making a fake document to register another person's daughter as his own daughter and obtain citizenship.
