Two Arrested in Nawalparasi for Jewelry and Electronics Theft

Nawalparasi. Police have arrested two people for stealing gold, silver jewelry and electrical items from the house of an elderly person in Sunwal, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West).

On May 14, at 9 am, cash, jewelry and other goods were stolen from the house of 70-year-old Manjabahadur Gurung, a resident of Shanti Tole, Ward No. 1, Sunwal Municipality.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team led by Police Inspector Laxman Devkota from the Sunwal Area Police Office was dispatched. During the investigation of the incident, the police took into custody 23-year-old Rishiram Kabar and Hemendranath Kabar, residents of Khairahani, Ward No. 3, Sunwal Municipality, on suspicion of involvement in the theft.

During the search of the rooms of the arrested individuals, the police found stolen goods and iron tools used for theft hidden. Among the recovered items were three rings that looked like gold, five bangles, one necklace, two earrings, one chain, and one yellow metal coin with the English letter 'S' inscribed on it.

In addition, one Sony camera, one iPad, three mobile phones of various brands, and one LED TV were recovered among the stolen electrical items.

Further legal action has been initiated against Rishiram and Hemendranath. According to Nawalparasi (West) Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Thapa, both arrested individuals have been remanded by the Nawalparasi District Court for further investigation into the offense of theft and robbery.
