Nepal Army completes 32 road projects

Kathmandu, February 23 — The Nepal Army has completed 32 road projects out of the assigned responsibilities, the Army informed reporters during a press conference held today.
During this process, over 1,400 kilometers of pilot tracks have been opened and handed over to the Government of Nepal.
Similarly, the Nepal Army is currently constructing over 200 kilometers of road under four ongoing projects: Khandbari–Kimathangka Road, Benighat–Arughat–Larke Bhanjyang Road, Karnali Corridor Road, and Darchula–Tinkar Road.
The army has prioritized the completion of national pride projects within the set deadlines, including the Kathmandu–Tarai–Madhesh Fast Track road project.
The responsibility for the construction and management of this project was handed over to the Nepal Army on 21st of Baisakh 2074 (May 4, 2017).
The physical progress of the 70.977 km long project stands at 38.26% and the financial progress at 39.84%, according to the army.
Of the seven tunnels under the project, two have been completed, two are under construction, and designs and preparatory works are ongoing for the remaining three tunnels.
Although the physical progress of the road projects has not met expectations due to various reasons, the army has emphasized its efforts to complete the work according to the set goals.
