Energy Ministry orders removal of employee for criticizing Minister Khadka

Kathmandu, February 23 — The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation has ordered the removal of an employee for criticizing Minister Deepak Khadka.

The Ministry directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to remove Bimal Gurung, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dudhkoshi Hydroelectric Project, from his position.

The Ministry took action after Gurung made irresponsible statements regarding the Ministry and the Minister on social media.

According to a letter signed by Section Officer Yagya Prasad Subedi, the NEA Board had already discussed and directed the removal of Gurung, but it was reported that he had not been removed from his responsibilities.

The Ministry has now requested the NEA to take immediate action and inform them once it has been implemented.

This directive was issued following a decision made on February 20.
