Court grants additional 4-day custody for Rabi Lamichhane
Kathmandu, December 17 — The District Court of Kaski has granted permission to keep former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in custody for an additional 4 days in connection with the embezzlement of funds from the Surydarshan Cooperative.
Earlier, the police had requested permission to extend his custody for 4 more days.
On December 20, the Office of the Government Attorney will file a prosecution against him in court.
Before the prosecution, the police obtained the court's permission to keep him in custody, as holding him without a legal warrant was deemed inappropriate.
On Monday, the police submitted the investigation report against him.
Lamichhane was arrested on October 18 from Banasthali.
He is currently in custody along with former DIG Chhabilal Joshi and three others in connection with the embezzlement of funds from Surydarshan Cooperative.
