Minister Poudel announces 2 lakh rupees for families of organ donors
Kathmandu, November 24 — Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel has decided to provide a donation of 200,000 rupees to the families of organ donors who wish to donate their organs after death.
Previously, families of organ donors were given 100,000 rupees. This amount was provided through the Human Organ Transplant Center in Bhaktapur. Minister Poudel has now decided to increase this amount by 100,000, bringing the total to 200,000 rupees.
The Ministry of Finance has agreed to manage the required funds from internal resources for the implementation of this decision. Minister Poudel confirmed that the necessary amount will be managed from the ministry's internal resources.
The amount previously given to the hospitals assisting with organ donation was 50 thousand rupees. The ministry has now increased this to 75 thousand rupees by adding 25 thousand rupees.
Minister Poudel stated, "We aim to encourage those who wish to save others' lives after their death. We hope this decision will encourage more people to donate their organs, saving lives after their own." Minister Poudel has previously announced his own intention to donate organs as well.
