Nepali youth goes missing in Portugal
Kathmandu, November 8 — A Nepali youth who came to Portugal for foreign employment has gone missing.
Suresh Kumar Ojha, 28, from Ward 12 of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City in Kailali, has been missing for the past four months. He arrived in Portugal two years ago via Poland for work.
According to Dipesh Bista, president of the Far Western Nepali Society in Portugal, Ojha has been out of contact since July 5.
Ojha, who had been working at a restaurant in the capital Lisbon, was found in an abandoned state seven months ago.
He was rescued from a metro station in a critical condition and was later placed in a hostel with arrangements for food and lodging. However, he reportedly escaped from the hostel and went missing again, according to Bista.
Efforts to locate him are ongoing, and the Nepalese community organizations active in Portugal have been requested to assist in his search, Bisht added.
Ojha's family, including his elderly mother and five sisters, has urged authorities to help find him and bring him back to Nepal. As of now, Ojha has not been in contact with any family members or relatives.
