11 kg of gold smuggling in Dolakha: One more arrested

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Police have arrested one more person in the case of smuggling of 11 kg of gold in Dolakha. The arrested is Aagar Lama also known as Tashi Dawa, a resident of Tibet.

It has been understood from the initial investigation of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) that the gold was smuggled under his instructions. He was arrested from Swayambhu, Kathmandu, where he had been living.

Within just four days, 11 kg of smuggled gold was seized from Dolakha this month. 4 kg of gold was seized from Singati, Dolakha on September 28, 3 kg on Sep 29, and 4kg from Lamabagar on October 1.

According to the Police investigation, the smugglers planned to bring the gold to Kathmandu from Dolakha, which they had smuggled from Tibet.

With this, the number of arrestees in the case has reached 11.
