Weather improves, flooding in rivers alleviates

Kathmandu, September 30 — With improvements in the weather across the country, the flooding situation in various rivers has also shown signs of improvement.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported that with heavy rainfall ceasing since Saturday evening, the flooding situation has improved.

Flood expert Binod Parajuli from the department stated that all rivers are gradually returning to manageable levels and there is no immediate risk of further flooding.

“Water levels are decreasing in most of the rivers that experienced flooding, and gradually the water levels will continue to drop,” he said. “The monsoon is also coming to an end, and the likelihood of heavy rainfall causing similar destruction is low.”
