Second day of Teachers’ protest: Chaos in Traffic management

KATHMANDU, Sep 21: Teachers have continued their protest that started yesterday against the School Education Bill which the government registered in the parliament secretariat.

The Confederation of Nepalese Teachers-led protest movement has affected the traffic of Kathmandu valley as the teachers have gathered for protest in the Maitighar and Baneshwar areas of Kathmandu. In areas like Thapathali, Maitighar, Singha Durbar and New Baneshwar, there is complete chaos in traffic management. Due to the teachers’ protest, traffic all over the Kathmandu Valley has been affected.

With the teachers protesting, the classes in the community schools have also come to a halt. 

The confederation has put forward an 18-point demand for amendment in the current bill, in which there are demands such as transfer, promotion, post requirement, not staying under the local municipal level, and others, and the confederation has said that their protests will continue until their demands are met.
