Vice Presidential election preparations complete, voting tomorrow
KATHMANDU, March 16: The preparations for the Vice Presidential elections to be held on Friday are complete. The head of the Election Officer's Office Mahesh Sharma Paudyal informed Ratopati that all the preparations for the election such as the construction of polling stations, preparation of ballot papers, etc. are complete.
Two ballot boxes have been prepared for the polling in the Lotse hall at the Parliament building.
According to Paudyal, polling will commence at 10 am tomorrow and will end at 3 pm, while the vote counting will be started at 4 pm and the results will be given by 7 pm.
There are a total of four candidates, namely, Ashta Laxmi Shakya from CPN-UML, Mamata Jha from Janamat Party, and Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and Pramila Kumari Yadav from Janata Samajbadi Party.
Pramila Kumari Yadav, however, had announced her candidacy withdrawal through a press release supporting Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav.
In the election to be held, 332 members of the federal parliament and 550 members of the state assembly will be the voters. Up to 7 employees will be deployed in one polling station.
