Hikmat Kumar Karki appointed CM of Province 1

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Hikmat Kumar Karki of CPN-UML has been appointed the Chief Minister (CM) of Province 1.

Karki  who is also the parliamentary party leader of UML was appointed the CM by Parshu Ram Khapung, the chief of the province.

Karki was appointed the CM in the support of 40 lawmakers of UML, 13 of CPN (Maoist Center), six of RPP and one of JSP.

Karki will take his office from Monday.
