Beijing– President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday attended the opening ceremony of International Horticultural Exhibition-2019 along with Chinese President Xi Jinping and heads of the states and governments who arrived China to participate in the 2nd Belt and Road Initiative.
Chinese President Jinping inaugurated the exhibition held at Kunming town – some 70-km away from central part of Beijing.
On the occasion, he expressed the hope that the exhibition would spread the concept of green development to all nooks and corners of the globe.
'Live Green, Live Better' has been set as the slogan of 162-day exhibition which is being attended by representatives from 110 countries. President Bhandari inaugurated the Nepali Pavilion in the exhibition.
Also on the same day, President Bhandari observed the brick-made Great White Pagoda based in Mount Wutai. The height of the white pagoda is around 164-feet. It has 13 levels and roof is made up of copper. The roof has 252 small circles. ---
