Patna–Nepal finished as winner in the International Open Karate and Kick Boxing championship that concluded here Tuesday. Nepali athletes won 20 gold medals.
In the event held at the Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Nepal came first while India and Bangladesh came second and third respectively.
The event was organised by All India Siteriyo Karate do Academy with the support Karate Association of India, according to Academy chair Raju Thapa.
Nepal's Rupa Rana won two gold medals in Kata and Kumite category of the championship. She had competed in the 50 kg weight category. Other gold medal winners are Santu Tharu, Tshering Gurung, Dil Bahadur Budathoki, Sanjaya Chaudhary, Shivani Basney, Dibin Gurung, Roshan Rana and Sunil Rawal.
Likewise, Priyanka Thapa, Iswa Saru, Shahil Gurung, Jwapan Pun, Milan Shris, Saroj Chettri, Amisha Pokharel, Aditya Chettri, Bibek Sen Thakuri, Gaurav Poudel also won gold, according to accompany Nepali official Giri Pun.
