Dhurmus Suntali Foundation intensifies funds raising campaign for cricket stadium

Kathmandu–The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation has intensified the funds raising campaign with its recent announcement to build a cricket stadium of an international standard in Chitwan. 


According to the Foundation, a charity, it organised three events titled ‘Dhurmus Suntali Evening’ in Malaysia and collected Rs 3.5 million. The Foundation is named after by two noted comedy actors Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Ghimire( Suntali). The couple is now busy in giving their performances in such type of events. 


Foundation Chair Kattel through the social networking sites unveiled that entertaining events were held in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Penang cities to raise funds for building the Lord Namobudhha International Cricket Stadium at Rampur of Bharatpur metropolis-16. 

The couple said that they were very much inspired to see interests and excitements shown by the Nepali community in Malaysia towards the campaign. The events were supported by the City Express. 


Rs two billion is expected to cost the stadium construction and the Foundation has called on and all to extend helping hands in the funds raising campaign. 


Presently, works are underway to prepare a detailed project report ( DPR) of the proposed structure and such works are expected to be complete by the next six months and there is a target to make the stadium ready for the use within two years of the preparations of DPR. The Foundation and the Bharatpur metropolis recently signed a memorandum of understanding in regard with the project on the witness of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepal Communist Party ( NCP) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal. ---
