New CJ declares to discharge Joshi from daily assignment

Kathmandu– Newly appointed Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana announced to discharge judge Deepak Raj Joshi from daily assignment. 

The new CJ who assumed office after taking oath of office and secrecy from the President earlier today declared to relieve Joshi from daily assignment. "I had to take this hard decision to push up people's trust on judiciary," he clarified. 

SC senior most Joshi's name was earlier recommenced by the Constitutional Council for the appointment as the CJ but the recommendation was refused through the Parliamentary Hearing. 

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee on Tuesday unanimously endorsed his name for the appointment as the CJ, accepting the Constitutional Council's recommendation. He organised a press meet following the assumption on his office.
