People's representative in Myagdi donates his salary for social cause

Myagdi–Chairperson of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi district, Dam Bahadur Pun, has donated his remuneration for the educational purpose of the poor, marginalized and orphan children in his locality. 


At the 60th anniversary of Muktinath Secondary School at Ghar of Annapurna Rural Municipality in the district held today, Chairperson Pun donated Rs 735,000, in the fund of the School. He also donated all the allowances he was entitled by the Gandaki Province government for the same cause. 


Pun, whose monthly salary is Rs 30,000, was confident that his aid would contribute in increasing access of education to the children from remote areas marginalized communities. 


The Good Samaritan people's representative had also previously contributed financially for rebuilding the flood-hit school, Dhaulagiri Elementary School and Gyan Prakash Secondary School at Kapchepani in the Annapurna Rural Muncipality-4. 


His act of kindness also stretches supporting bright students who were compelled to quit their studies owing to financial constraints. He supported Kajol Roka, who comes from an impoverished family, Rs 50,000 for the study of engineering. 
Pun, who had joined the Indian Gurkha Solider after graduating from grade 8, due to bleak financial status, shared that he did not want other students to give up on their studies in lack of money and other resources. 


Pun who retired from the Indian Gurkha Service as a Captain ran a hotel at Ghodepani in Myagdi before he was elected to the present post in the local level election held in 2017.
