Kathmandu– Youth spinner of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandip Lamichhane has left for Australia to play in the Big Bash League (BBL), the Twenty-20 cticket league of Australia.
Sandip has become the first Nepali cricketer to play in the BBL. He had been playing in the ongoing Everest Premier League (EPL) from Lalitpur Patriots. He played in two games of EPL being held in Kathmandu.
He had taken two wickets of Biratnagar Warriors in the inaugural match of EPL held on Saturday and three wickets of Chitwan Tigers in another match held on Sunday.
Sandip is playing in the BBL from the Melbourne Stars Club of Australia. The BBL starts from December 19. He will go to Bangladesh to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) tournament after playing some matches of the Big Bash League as he has already been signed for the BPL. Lamichhane is signed for the UAE league also.
The youth spinner who shot to world fame after playing in the Indian Premier League (EPL) has also played in the Caribbean Premier League, the Global T-20 Canada League, the Afghanistan Premier League and the T-20 League.
