Humla village facing shortage of iodised salt

Humla– Sarkegad Rural Municipality in Humla is reeling under the shortage of iodised salt. 
As a result, the people are forced to walk two days to the district headquarters to buy the salt. But those who can afford it buy a packet of the salt for Rs 70 on the black market. Sarkegad depot sold a pack of the salt for Rs 10. 

The depot is running short of iodised salt as the contractor is delaying the supply, said a depot official. 
A local trader said the salt supplied through mules is charged higher as the supply cost is high.
